Default painting plastic

I dont know if anyone has painted their cladding pieces for their av on here but if any one has or painted their plastic fender pieces for both front and back and also the door handles, could you please tell me the easiest way and cheapest way to paint. Would i be able to paint the pieces myself? and if so what paint and what steps for the prep to get rid of the texture

From what I hear the plastic pieces don't hold paint and they start to chip....look on ebay for paintable pieces and put a little bit of money into it. You have to play to play

Take it to a body shop and have them do it. They'll be able to prep it properly for paint. they use what's universally called an adhesion promoter that allows the paint to bond a little better with the plastic. If it's a flexible plastic, such as a lower valence, they'll also add a flex agent that will allow a little bit of flex out of the paint so it won't crack as easily.

paintin plastics and making it durable isn't as hard/impossible as some people make it sound....just take a little patience and a lot of prep work...i've done 3 sets of honda 450R 4 wheeler plastics in the past year and they're all still holding up

Sand, filler primer, sand, clean and paint. Mines help up great so far.

Adhesion promoter for painting plastic can help also. There was a decent write up over on GMFS about painting plastic.

Again, I would take it to a body shop. They'll be able to match the paint pretty friggin close to stock, if not 100%
