paint prep ?'s

I have a guy that is wanting to sell me a set of street scene mirrors and some clean coners for $75 for all. Is this a bad deal? Also they are painted maroon like his truck was. If i buy them what would be the best way to prep them and how mard are they to install? thanks in advance. Truck needs a face lift to draw attention away from the rock chips :(

Thats def not a bad deal. The clear corners alone are about 30 bux off of ebay or like 60 from a regular store. As for the mirrors, they should be easy to paint, already good and smooth. I would use some 400 grit sandpaper just to knock the clear coat off and scuff the paint. They spray on some primer and then spray your basecoat. That should be ok. I have painted my stock mirrors and even with the rough black plastic the paint has stayed on, cept for the occasional rock chip :D

Red, not sure on the painting part but that's a hell of a deal if they are in good shape. If you want to know how to install them head over to my webpage, I wrote a tech article on them because I just recently installed mine.
