Where did you find these shackles for the two in. rear drop...I'd like to drop mine in the back end also.!

 

they are centerline lancer 20x8.5" chrome plated. the tires are goodyear eagle LS 275/55/20. I would not recommend the goodyears. they are a little tall and do not hold a balance very well. I plan to replace them with a 275/45/20 once I wear these out.

the shackles I bought came from a local custom shop and they are DJM 2" shackles. there are several mail order and online vendors that carry 2" shackles for late model trucks and they seem to all be around $40-50 a pair. they are very easy to install and greatly inhance the looks and handling. I highly recomend them.

YOU MIGHT HAVE TO ADJUST THE SWING BEARING. I PUT MINE ON AND I HADE A BAD VIBRATION UP TO ABOUT 40 MPH. I CALLED BELLTECH AND THEY SAID I NEED TO BUY THE ADJUSTABLE SWING BEARING. SO I JUST TOOK THEM OFF FOR NOW TILL I CAN GET TO CRAWL UNDER THERE AN SEE IF I CAN SHIM THAT BEARING.

 

pardon me for asking but WTF is a swing bearing?

Just get a cutting torch and new bolts and you are good to drop.

 

that would be called a 'carrier bearing' for future use. and it should not be adjusted as it is made to line up with the output shaft of the transmission. If you drop the rear far enough you should shim the rear axle with wedges to compensate for pinion angle. you DO NOT adjust the bearing.
