I have a black 02 avalanche, and i dont mind the gray plastic side molding, but i have seen a couple where the plastic was painted to match the vehicle color and i think it looks a lot better, especially with black. Has anyone attempted this, and how did it turn out? I know it would be much better to take it somewhere to be done professionally, but i was curious to see how it would work out with using some black spray paint made for use on plastics. The main problem that i can see is that the molding has a texture to it and i dont know if the paint will show up rough also, or if it would fill in to look smooth. are there any products made specifically for this? thanks for any suggestions.
