Has anyone ever tinted their mirrors or bumpers?

I bought some VHT nightshade paint to tint my tail lights. I got to thinking, I wonder how it would look if I used the stuff to tint the chrome parts of my mirrors? Or even tint my bumpers or grill. (Would it look kinda like black chrome?)

I want to black out the entire truck. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and if so, do you have any pictures?

Thanks fellas.

Sounds like he wants a gloss finish over a matte finish.

I say try it on the mirrors first since they are the easiest. :thumb:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm not looking for that black chrome look specifically. I thought maybe it would be a nice side effect. I would rather have the bumpers, mirrors, and grill color matched to my truck. I thought maybe there were a few guys that might have tried the vht nightshade.

Since I'm going to be tinting my tail lights anyway, then clear coating them, I thought maybe I could get away with doing the other stuff.

It sounds like the best thing to do is have it all painted.

I'm wanting to replace my tail light bulbs with LEDs so they'll be a bit brighter. Does anyone have a source they've had good luck with?

Oh, I've done the plastidip thing too. I may just go ahead and paint the mirrors, bumpers and grill with the stuff temporarily.

The Dupli-Color Shadow is made to do exactly what your wanting. Ive used it on the inside of some headlights. Pretty neat, looks like black chrome. I dont have any pics though. :bang:

EDIT: Google Images search for dupli color shadow yielded some nice pics. Check it out and post pics if you do it!

Don't do it man. I think it would look cheezy, keep a clean look.

Can't see any rattle can product holding up on a bumper or mirror caps. It just does not have the hardness a auto paint has, and def not the hardness of powder. It would look good though, but not gona hold up.
