gray plastic molding on front bumper!

I was wondering if any of you have painted the gray plastic on the front bumper and if so what did you use and how did it go?

what year do you have? are you talking about the lower air dam on the 99+ trucks?

I hope you're talking about the lower airdam or the upper non-painted bumper on the chevy trucks. The older pre99' trucks had that really ugly sidemolding crap that continued on to the front bumber which was really ugly and should not be paint, only removed. LOL

If it's the lower airdamn you're talking about then you would simply have to prep it by sanding it down a bit and then the painting can be done. Not sure of the actual process but I was told there are additives that go into the paint to make it adhere and of course a flex agent so the paint doesn't crack.

I've got a airdam for a 99-02 with foglights just laying in my garage. If anyone's interested I'll paint it for them for cheap. I just need tog et rid of it. Oh yeah I'm a professional using only PPG products.

99-02 airdam and lights

Still have the air dam and lights laying around? I'm interested in them if so.

To answer the question, yes I have painted mine. It's called a bumper cap. Some guys sand it some what smooth, and some just use a high build primer. I used a high build primer and plenty of flex additive. It will get some dings over time, but what won't on the front of a truck. Mine has been done for over 3 years now and still looks very good.
