Did 2000's have notorious paint problems??

Myself and another person both with 2000 silverado's have been dealing with paint problems for a while. after washing our trucks it takes forever to hand dry, no matter what kind out towel you use, and afterwards are swirled like crazy. A quick detailer doesnt help, only swirls more. I have had my truck clayed once before, and still have the same problems. I have heard from some people that 2000's had paint probs from the factory...true or not???

I have a red one and no problems so it's probably just certain colors. Is your friend's blue too?

I have a pewter 2000. It needs to be waxed desperatly, but other than that its easy to dry. I use a california water blade, followed up by the Absorber which is a synthetic shammy(sp). Works great, then use a towel on teh rims, and grille.

maybe the wax you use too? i know mcguires carnuba soap will spot like a motha if you dont use a california swipe thing to dry most of it.

I had a 99 gmc burgundy/pewter two tone. Never had a problem with the paint. It may be the materials your using. Which soaps, etc.

got problems with mine(blue truck). only way you could get the water spots off mine would be to sand it and repaint it

You're not by chance washing it in the sun or right after it's been driven?
