Chrome or high polished wheels?

Ive been looking at centerline stingray 3s and think I decided to go with the 18s instead of the 20s (am I crazy??) anyways the 18s polished are 200 bucks each but the chrome are 300 each, whats the real difference? Are polished harder to care for etc? not as durable? Anything else I should know when deciding between the 2?

Polish= shit load of cleaning to keep clean
Chrome= wash and dry one and a while polish.

I wish that I would of got chrome wheels.

wish i had chrome too.....let me tell you. I have polished billet swpecialties and in my opinion polished wheels look great when they are clean but they take a good hour or 2 to clean. (per wheel!!!) Polished wheels are great for your Sunday cruiser vehicle or hot rod but on a daily driver i would definitely go with chrome. Just my .02

Spend the extra money on the chrome wheels. Chevytruck is right, you'll be glad you did in the long run.

chrome looks like ass when it cracks and flakes also if u dont take care of the brake dust it will mess then up, with polished u can fix mistakes easier.

CHROME, esp where you live at.. Aluminum is a pia, take it from somebody that knows.. It is alot of up keep vs chrome. If you get good quality wheels they will last a long long time..

Here are my polished rims in the winter time... I don't bother cleaning them at all during the winter... to much road grime, and salt

Here they are kinda polished... the more time you take, the better they look.http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...s/P3040751.jpg

Ive swtiched back and forth a few times. I regret going back to polished stingray 3's.

They look good but dam chrome wipes off easy....

Chrome is a lot easier to care for for but not good for anyone trying to make hp which includes just about everyone here. It's just too damn heavy. I don't regret getting rid of my chrome 20's at all. I really like my 18's. They are harder to keep up but polished looks better than chrome IMO. This summer I plan on trying the zoop seal. When I first got my wheels I waxed them with meguires and washed them regularly and that kept them new looking.

i heard from someone that you can have polished wheels powder coated clear, so you dont have to keep polishing them?????

Well that probably just made my decision, polished it is, then a good coat of clear powder coating, after this summer my truck will not be driven in the winter anymore so Im not concerned about salt and garbage like that anyways, thanks guys!

Just my personal opinion....chrome wheels look cheap and tacky to me. I'd be worried about pitting on chrome wheels too. I've never owned polished wheels, so I can't really say how difficult the maintenance is. However, I don't see the maintenance being too bad with a Mother's Power Ball.
