Default 2001 Silverado need air dam opening

I'm looking for ideas for an opening in the air dam, especially from people with FMICs. Is it possible to use a GMC bumper and air dam and retain the Chevy upper plastic under the grill?

you can run a chevy HD airdamn, the middle is cutout, as long as you are talking about 00-02 style

You can just use the GMC airdam if you would like...

I like both of those ideas. Will the GMC airdam fit on the Chevy bumper without modification? Are there good deals on these online or should I call my local dealer?

The GMC air dam won't fit. The bumpers are shaped differently on the bottom.

Here's a pic of the HD air dam.

Oh, and just for comparison's sake....

GMC bumper (borrowed this pic from shakinlm7)

Chevy bumper (this is mine - Z71 Tahoe air dam with slits trimmed out)
