i have a race date with a terminator cobra...
 

well i recently set up a race with a guy with a "terminator" mustang cobra (03-04 supercharged cobra). he was bragging about how he just raced a stock c6 z06 from 40-130 mph and only lost by a car and started talking $hit about my truck saying that it ain't $hit basicly. long story short he left for work and will be back in 2.5 weeks for the show down . only thing i know about his car is that it lost to a stock z06 by a car and that it has a lil weight reduction out side of that i know nothing else. im running a d1 on 13#'s , 4l80e/ 3200 stall , 220-224 581 581 115 cam, e85 tuned , 80# injectors with a return style fuel system.B4 i put my d1 on my best time was 12.4 @111 on my P1 on 8#'s everything else the same and tune was only 80% done .
what do you guys think ? did i let my mouth get me into some crap or do i got this ? its a money race too!

Before you race gut the truck as much as possible.If you plan to have chance do not give him his race standing start only.It only takes bout $1500 in mods to put a termy next to you far trap speed is concerned.That would be a full weight car.So you might be in a pickle,but no need to worry awd does wonders against supposed "fast cars".

oh , he said he dynoed at like 550hp or something like that, and he said i hope your running at least 800hp in that thing ..blah blah blah ... mustang owners...

I ran a terminator at 17psi with a kenne bell that dynoed at 630hp, so almost exactly what I dynoed at and I only lost by a few cars from 50-130. You won't need 800hp to beat him.

i know its a decently fast car but if he aint beating a stock z06 then its not that untouchable quick or out of my league lets say. i dont know what i run now with the new d1 but its allot faster then the p1 was.

what do you run in the 1/4?

Find out if the cars solid axle if not then id say its in the bag.They have trouble at that power level breaking axles when using stock independent rears.

HIf his story is true then you got your hands full.The problem is C6z's are deceivingly fast from a roll.To keep up with one by a car suggest mid 120 traps for the cobra.
Oh,an 550rwhp for a Cobra with a stock eaton is pretty rare.So he may have a blower swap to a KB<---not a good blower for this vehicle or Whipple which would make the numbers more realistic.Btw Get a vid an Good luck.
