Ecoboost vs Pontiac GTO
#12
Ecoboost trucks are running very low 13s in 1/4 mile with minor mods. Race tunes are starting to come out and people are expecting them to kiss 12s with just a tune. I personally have one with catless downpipe, 93 tune, intake and it moves out pretty good.

theres several aleady running in the 12s. Livernoise motorsports has there shop/test truck 4x4 running high 12s. Im sure yall have heard but ford realeased that the ecoboost will be in a reg. cab 4x4 or 2wd later this year. its going to be a nasty little truck for just programmer, cai etc.

I raced my buddy with a 03 harley 4lb lower pulley, long tube headers, cai , exhaust and custom tune from a 20 roll and at 115 just before i let off the gas i looked over and his front bumper just had came into my passenger window. I pullled him 1 1/2-2 trucks off the hit up to about 60mph and he started realing me back in.
I raced my buddy caleb he has a 05 rado lq9 6.0 swap, cam, headers, exhaust, cai, tune, 4l80e from a 30 roll and off the hit he didnt pull away it took him some mph to build up to pull off. I let off at 120 and he had me by 4 trucks.
i cant wait for some cool weather and get on it im sure it will come to life then.

There is some debate about the livernois truck running 12.8 and trapping 103. There is a ton of people with the same exact mods and non come in within 4 tenths and 2 mph. Maybe had a 50 shot. There are now turbo and fuel system upgrades coming out in a few weeks. One using 56mm compressor wheels with the stock cores for under $3k. I think the other will be using 62mm garett turbos. Curious to see how these little 3.5s roll out with 150-200 more whp.

What gears does your truck have and what kind of mileage do you get? Straight highway at what speed? Im getting a new truck within the next year and Im really leaning towards another Dmax but a platinum with an ecoboost is a close second.

X2 on the 6.2 truck. Maybe i'm biased because I own one but the 6.2 is quicker than the e-boost stock. Give it a turbo and the party is over for the ford. Don't get me wrong, I like the e-boost truck too but couldn't force myself to buy a V6 fullsize.
