i dont know?? it looked pretty stock, as far as i could see. you have to figure though, what is the gear ratio of 1st and 2nd in a six speed tranny compared to our 4 speed, then multiply that times the 4.30 rearend gearing, then a 480 hp motor < including nitrous>

i guess its possible?? it is an ugly summbitch though!!

you have 3.23 thats whats killing you

Get 4.10s with 275 40 17 mt drag rads. It will be like running a 5.00 rear end gear and is perfect for the track 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile. If your trapping more than 113 though i would go with a 295 45 17.

I have the mt drag rads and they hook great at street races or at the track. With that small of a tire there is so mess less weight you have to throw around so you will notice a big change at the track. With 4.10s and drag rads im sure you will be one happy camper in the 1/8.


With 4.10s, 275 40 17 drag rads and a posi im sure you will be in the low 8s in the 1/8 mile.

thanks for the advise!

but sadly, this is my DD....about 90-100 miles per day back and forth to work.

3.73 is all i can stomach for the mileage.... a short tire with 3.73's should bring me down a good bit though!

yes 3.73 will help

Question for you what is the redline on the 4.8L. Give me that and ill give you the exact rpm/mph for shifts etc with the 275 40 17

i have it set to 6200 on the rev limiter... i shift it at 5900, since the cam is dropping off around there, and everything else is stock besides whats in my sig.

i turn about 1900 rpm at 70 mph cruising with it.

need some info from you

1) what size tires are on the truck
2) so 1-2 2-3 at the track shifts at 5900 right??
3) What is you best mph in the 1/8
4) Do you do the 1/4 mile also??
5) 4L60E right??

Tell me those bro and ill get you going with how the stock tire will do with 3.73 vs 4.10s. 275 40 17 with 373 vs 4.10s and also top mph of 1 2 3 with the different gears/tires. With 3.23 in the 1/8 or 1/4 your killing yourself. Ive done it many times for the tbss guys on my site

285/50r20 with a 9.5" x 20" rim
yes, every shift at 5900
1/8th.... 9.30 @71mph ? 60ft.@ 2.1... no 1/4 mile track around
yes, stock 4l60e with 3000 stall
