If you have stock 3.73 then 4.11 will be barely noticeable. A diablew tune thru 06monteSS will be very very close to a custom tune from Black Bear, NP, Wheatley etc. at least 95% as good. When you really crank up the power they will be better, but diablew custom is fine for near stock. For the cost of gears installed you could get a budget stall from circle d which will get you on top of that cobalt. Don't expect too too much out of the old 4.8 IMO. I have a ecsb 2000 4.8 that ran 17.1 in near stock form. Yours has better heads and some other parts neting about 40 extra HP. Also weighs about 500lbs less I bet. However 16.0 is a good estimate.

WOW. I don't know why i was thinking i had 3.73 gears. It has 3.42 gears, so those 4.11's should help a good bit.

Well that is another story. 3.42 to 4.10 will make it feel like a different truck. That 4.8 will thank you.

I can vouch for 06monteSS aka Lew. He is very heplful and his "diablew" tune is just as good any others. he's been in the game just like the others. he would still be my tuner if it wasn't for the lack of transmission support for the 4 speeds on the predator handhelds even thought diablo kept saying the predator would eventually get trans support. at that point, since I was going to have to upgrade to one of their trinity/intune handhelds, I went local tuner with a well known reputation that mainly worked on LS stuff and hptuners.

gears, crap box tune, headers and intake....the cobalt will still **** you up. sorry. you're heavy with that 4x4 and underpowered. not even sure why GM still makes that bastard motor.

call up nitrous outlet and order up a plate kit. leave the timing stock and hit it with a 150 shot. ask for a dig run and launch in 4x4. watch cobalt disappear in your rear view for less than 1,000 in mods.

+1 again with my old 99 323i I could smoke m3's with a 100 shot and my fogger wet kit was 500$
Great fun when you want it and reliable as stock when you need it.
