Well i traded for this truck a few weeks ago. It has a 4.7 v8 and its 4wd. So far just a cold air intake and throttle body spacer. I dont have too much money to drop right now but i have some ideas.

Mostly my question is what have you guys done to upgrade for power. I haent seen a lot of options for power upgrades.

not many. Superchips or Sct Tuner.
I've got a quad cab 2wd with 4.7- Intake,magnaflow,superchips,4.10's,e-fans soon. runs alright

i cant afford too much but my dakota is a 2002 ext cab 4.7V8 auto 4x4 and i have replaced the tranny, xfercase, new upper and lower ball joints , springs, brakes,in the front and flushed the front diff and did the seals..did all new u joints and flushed the rear end as well...new water pump, upper and lower hose, had the radiatior flushed and scoped, new pressure cap, K&N air filter, Napa gold oil filter, mobil 5K synthetic blend oil w/ 1 quart of lucas substituted in everything. and she hauls *** at 278K Miles on the OEm engine...
