Default Swapping 5.3 to 6.0 into 2001 Chevy tahoe

Hi Guys, I a got a few questions about doing a swap on my 2001 tahoe. I currently am running the 5.3 LM7 but I’m starting to get ideas of doing a 6.0 swap. I heard there are 2 different kinds, which are the LQ4 and LQ9. From my understanding the LQ9 is the more powerful engine and it also is easy to adapt to the stock tranny on the tahoe 4L60-E. My questions is will the LQ9 connect to the 4L60? Or will I need to switch over to the LQ4? Also what do I need in order for the engine to run without having any tuning issues? And will I need to make any modifications like changing any drive shaft? Engine mount? Or maybe a brace. I honestly would like to do the swap becuse I do not feel the 5.3 is fast at all and it has over 300K miles on it. I may also switch out the tranny and go for another 4L60. I plan on keeping the 6.0 stock I simply want to have a few extr HP. I would like to know what I need in order to make everything fit and run fine without any issues and also if I need any parts off the 5.3. Thanks!

Understand this now,

All Gen3 motors, 4.8-6.0 will interchange with each other. What IS different between the cars and trucks is the accessory spacing.

To answer your question, the lq9 will bolt up to the 60e just fine. The 60e won't live long but it will work.

As for accessories, they all change over without issues.

Well, he wasnt totally off by asking. Long crank 99-01ish LQ4s cant be used with the 4L60. So, while all Gen3s swap with each other, not every Gen3 fits every trans.

OP, stock for stock the difference from LQ4 to LQ9 is in the noise, the performance difference is not worth the extra cost if youre just gonna slap it in with a tune. What you do gain with the LQ9 is better rods, and higher compression. Both good for when you want to put boost on that girl, but if youre staying stock, I'd save the money myself and get the best, cleanest, lowest mile, leak free motor you can find, be it a 4 or 9.

Motor will drop into where the 5.3 sits, no issues, no wiring, no swap mounts, no physical changes. You will need a tune however, absolutely no way around it.
