Sleeper Z
Well this is the start of my project. It will probably take a few years to complete. My truck is a 07' Z71 with the L33 and 3.73s.
Plans: Not sure now 358ci 10.5/11.0-1 Currently I am stock with a spectre intake and a 3" dynomax bullet muffler in place of the stock. I am in need of a set of valve seals so I plan on doing the cam soon with upgraded valve train. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g3...2/IMAG0129.jpg |
Sounds good, but I would skip the internals and just go straight for a 70mm with 10lbs. That will get you very close to your goal. The stock engine is fine at 10lbs and 450hp all day. Also throw in some 60lb injectors, fuel pump, and a shift kit and youre good.

I was just playing safe. I hear good things about the L33. I have an oil consumption problem now. I believe it's the valve seals

Its probably the PCV system. Try installing a catch can.

I thought about that. I guess that would be the cheap end and less man hour repair. Any good catch cans that you would recommend? I have had 2 Turbo subarus so they had there recommended setups.

Well I have changed my mind as I don't see me being able to afford a kb or other Turbo kit in the near future. What I would like to do is add some some displacement to the L33. I want to keep the aluminum block to keep it light but I am not sure what route to take.
I'd like some more info on this, I have heard 383 thrown around slot but it seems like a lot of machining is required. I have seen and read about making a 358ci too, that seems feasible imo. Understanding what rods cranank and bore/piston has my mind running in circles right now-more reading should clear this up I am sure.My plan is to start this build in the fall winter but I'd like more info on what is required. I an looking for a strong torque motor that's high enough on comp that it's fun to drive but low enough to throw 5-8#s on down the road. I believe I have the ls6(minus the light weight valves) 243s being it's the L33 if that's the case outside of sending them out for a port job they are great right from the get go, right? Here's some more pics too: Attachment 133408 Attachment 133409 Attachment 133410 Attachment 133411 |
