I think they call it the Tahoe end. It made the whole deal work for me.
I was able to retain all my stock GM brakes..... Including the e-brake..
i am running the Strange Big Ball Bearings with the O-Ring st the wheel.
They can do it so you can run the Tapered Roller Bearing Set too.
I have stock Silverado bolt pattern Dutchman axles (35 Spline)
Strange Pro Iron Nodular third member (3.25" Bore) with a Eaton Truetrac carrier.
The plan is to never see the inside of it ever again.
I am starting with a 4.56 rear gear. I have a 30" tall tire.

That is a beautiful black truck..... i wish we had nice roads...
Great info. Every rear end builder I have contacted says "we can't keep you current Wilwood brakes because blah blah blah"

If they bolt up to a stock rear then there is going to be a way they can bolt to a 9-inch. Just need the correct ends!

Been to Anchorage a few times (retired USAF). Roads are pretty sucky there

Our roads are terrible...
.
But we have more modified trucks here than I have seen anywhere.
I will see more hotrod trucks on my 3 mile drive home tonight than I saw on my 10 day driving tour of Arizona last month.

We spent 10 days in Texas last year... All over West Texas including a stop at Texas Speed.... did not see 10 modded trucks on the whole trip.
When we got home from Texas at 11pm on a Tuesday night it was 8 degrees outside and windy with blowing snow.
I saw 3 lowered trucks on my 2 mile drive to the house.

The kids and their lowered 4X4's are everywhere here!

Hell yeah I would be driving 4wd in Ak too. I guess all the little hot rodders can't do Camaro's and Mustangs very easily. All I ever see on a drive is stock trucks and a bunch of little sedans. Nothing at all EVER to run. I'm damn lucky if I catch anything worth beating at a stop...boring as hell!

The truck has Atomic's front shock kit and now I will have to buy his motor mount kit too! I bought the new GM mounts just before he came out with his kit.
We have lots of these trucks around the family. The stockers can go in the next one.
I think there will always be a next one....
DJM upper and lower arms with new powdercoat.
Probably going to leave the stock swaybar for now.
Almost everything is new or has been powdercoated.

I bought new GM nuts and bolts for anything that looked special.
Everything else is Zinc plated from McMaster.

The rack is new, Anybody have any detail on the mounting hardware for it.
I have the gm parts drawing and it sucks.
I ordered all the parts listed and I think the only stuff available was the nuts and bolts.
I might just make some Delrin bushings for the frame tubes.

The chassisworks stuff is really first rate.
I had to do some small tweaks here and there to make me happy, but it was never intended to go in a truck.
This was the widest chassisworks swaybar. (36" I think) It fit the width of the chassis just perfect
I think I can get the exhaust over the axle that is a huge deal for me.
With the double adjustable shocks and the Caltrac bars I hope it will hook.
I would do this again with exactly the same pieces.

I am afraid it is headed for a Dart blocked LS 454 with a procharger.

The 454...
I was looking for the next project....
I did not like the Factory Five Truck until I saw the pictures of it with fenders.
With fenders it looked like the next project.
I have seen it at SEMA for a couple of years and finally got to sit in one at Barrett Jackson in January.
I had started collecting motor parts already.
Sitting in it was a big deal, I am a fat guy... They had a roller they let me try. I could be comfortable enough for it's intended use.
And then I realized it did not have pedals in it.
My size 12 boots were pretty cramped in the foot box.
I am sure I would not be happy once it had 3 pedals down there (it would have to be a six speed).
I can buy some less bulky shoes but I don't think it would be enough.
No Factory Five Truck for me.
Now what to do with the 454?
If I can find a 2004 Z06 maybe, I already have a T56 core...
