Talking Project "SASSY" gets new exhaust finally!

When the truck was built I was rushed. I had to relocate for my job and had to settle for stock manifolds, a stock Y pipe with Magnaflow high flow cats, and a home made catback that was dumped under the bed. Now after awhile of dealing with it I managed to get what I have wanted for the longest time. The new setup consists of some JBA shorties wrapped in DEI Titanium wrap, still using the Y pipe and Magnaflow cats from the old setup. We chopped the Y pipe after the cats and ran a completely custom true dual 3 inch with an X pipe and two Moroso spintech bullet race mufflers. Pipes go all the way back and exit at a 45 degree angle at the rear corner of the bed behind the rear tires with some polished stainless steel 3 1/2 inch slashcut tips. Needless to say it sounds about 300% better and flows so much better to let that blower breathe! Hope you enjoy!

First off, I apologize for the huge pics, I wasn't thinking. Also I wanted to make a mention that I would've gone with a longtube if possible, but the fact that this is still a 4WD setup just won't allow it. I still have a ton of little things to do to this to get everything where I want it, but a little progress at a time is better than nothing at all. Unfortunately here in WA the weather is just downright horrible and isn't very conducive to working outside on the truck. Nice days are few and far between. I have a few more i need to take of the full setup back. I will post the ones I have that aren't the best quality, but for now will have to do.

Oh yeah...please disregard all the rust...it is a never ending battle. I intend to get rid of it all on the body/bumper this spring when the truck goes to paint.

Here it is from my photobucket account. I will try to do it from youtube also for those of you who may have trouble with seeing it here.

Glad to see your truck finished! Exhaust is gratifying work, starting it for the first time... very exciting!
I feel your pain with the rust issue. Your 97 looks way cleaner than the OBS survivors in my part of the nation. My 95 spends 5 months in a garage and doesn't come out until Spring.

I have had the truck running for a few years now, but I just now managed to get this exhaust work done right, and that is definitely gratifying for sure. There are a lot of little things that need to be done better in other areas, but those are on the list. The truck actually was from IL when I got it and had a plow and a salt spreader on the back (evident from the back bumper) I saved her from disintegration lol. Paint and body work will be done next year for sure. I have had this thing for awhile now, and I just LOVE her to death. There isnt a lot of us OBS guys out there anymore, but i think these trucks are just badass.

Took the truck over to a local place to have the work done...they did an awesome job routing everything the way i wanted and since they are a magnaflow daler he hooked it up with double rolled stainless magnaflow tips. Took a bit of work with running the dual 3 inch down the one side and getting around my 32 inch spare under there, but they did an amazing job.

You do need a new rear bumper! Summit sells Westin bumpers, a current promo is free shipping. Might want to take advantage.
