Default Project Green Truck 04 RCSB Silverado

Hi all, my name is Tyler

I recently inherited my FIL’s 04 - RCSB Silverado - 4.8 - AT

Truck is mint inside and out short of a little rust on the frame. 90K Miles. This wasn’t his primary vehicle and it spent most of its time in a garage. He’d have it detailed once a year regardless and take it out for Sunday drives or use it on special occasions.

This truck for him was a bit of a reminder of his Green 69 El Camino that be had to sell when he started a family. I’d like it to be an homage to that. Low, green and loud. Fast will have to come later.

I’ve been out of the GM Perf / performance truck scene for a long time but have always had an affinity for GM sport trucks and the LS platforms.

Don’t have anything crazy in mind for this truck engine wise. I’ll probably get an intake of some sort and better flowing and sounding exhaust. Possible LT headers. Though I don’t want to get too carried away on a 4.8. If down the road I want to get into engine swaps a 6.0 would be the direction.

First step will be a mild drop, something like. 3/5 with a notch and some suitable wheels. I want something a little bigger than stock but not too flashy. I’ll do some work to eliminate any of the chrome and peel the stripe. Window tint and a tonneau.

I’m looking forward to getting to work on it, though I have two other projects so I don’t think I’ll get too deep into it until spring of next year.. One is my DD 2007 Lexus Gx470 and the other my 66 Corvair Corsa.

Looks like you've got a solid base to work off of. Can't wait to see where it goes.

Sweet ride! No need to instantly ditch the 4.8, they can be fun at 7 to 8k rpm’s with boost.
