FedEx blessed me with on time service today, and a few big holes in my LT box.

Schoenfeld may make a good header but they cant pack for ****. Just two LT headers banging around in a box, no air bags, no bubble wrap. No nothing. But it is what it is. I've got my fingers crossed that my wiring guy has my wiring harness all done by friday (just wiring in the harness for the 4L65E) because she gets dropped off friday.

Pics.

Install progress pics, Dyno vids and numbers coming within the next couple of weeks. I was told two weeks tops for the swap but im not going to rush my builder. Not only is he my builder and mechanic hes a good friend of mine.

Truck should sound amazing and surprise a few ricers in the process. The look on the face of people who hear this thing coming and then see its a 97 prerunner tahoe will be friggan priceless.

Thank you and everyone else who talked me into going LT's. These things look awesome and im sure these, coupled with my Borla XR-1 race mufflers will sound amazing. I've decided to run catless. I dont do any form of emissions testing due to how far out i live. I just cant wait to see the look on the faces of people who hear me coming and then see that this sound of pure armageddon is coming from a prerunnered out OBS Tahoe. Im sure itll turn some heads. I had been contemplating a bit more aggressive cam, but id like to keep SOME MPG so i've decided to stick with the LS6 cam. It should lope just a little. Im sure itll keep me smiling for a while (until i start making some guns and cutting myself paychecks, then itll get a blower and the rear end mods).

The shop called today and they need to have some of their finished cars picked up and move some stuff around so they can fit her in so she didnt get dropped off today, but im sure itll happen this weekend. I cant ******* wait to drive this monster. Itll be a conversation starter thats for sure. And when i take it to the popular off roading areas ill definitely get more looks than i did with the tired vortec 350. And the 350 will have a loving home in my buddy's first gen s10, carbbed and bottle fed. Win win situation. I hope hes got plans for traction haha.

Well we hit a few snags, the flexplate was wrong, but hughes performance trans is local so i got the right plate same day.

Shoenfeld longtubes didnt clear the shock hoops OR the fox 2.0 on the passenger side, by a LOT. We had to get a little creative. Custom accessory brackets, took a bit of length out of the PS header primaries and got everything ready to go. Heres some progress shots.

Should be on the dyno next week

Day i dropped her off at the shop...

All my BS in the back getting ready for its new home.

In the truck, she may have some boost and deavers before i take possession of her again so my next move may be 4l80e and a better locker in the rear. the 4.56's are perfect for my build. This pic shows the custom accessory bracket that maintains the use of my old vortec 5.7 ac setup. The entire ac system was brand new and in order to run ac on this swap you need to get creative so this is what we ended up with. And plenty of room on the P/S for a blower or snail.

Walbro 456 is already in tank. 40 pound injectors should be on the rails already. Going to make it possible for me to run E85 if i get a wild hair up my ***.... or boost

We've still got a ways to go. Building a core support and shroud for the monster E fans, getting the stock cam (replaced with LS6 cam) custom ground for a bit more umph and HP. Ill run with the LS6 cam for now. Everything from the old harness has been flawlessly blended into the new harness, PCM controls the e-fans so ill have a fan controller up for sale soon if someone needs. All and ill its coming together pretty well. Im still kicking around the idea of a 5 over I beam setup for the front and coilovers and links in the rear. We'll see. Itd sure be nice to get this bitch in a magazine. Not sure they do photoshoots with the truck covered in mud

Ill update more as progress happens.

Yeah, that's the 5.7 compressor, lines and bracket. The bracket IS welded to the LS PS bracket. Once jay get me more pics I'll post em up. Hopefully dyno numbers soon too.

What did you do for wiring? just integrate the new harness with the stock? and strip out what you didnt need?

Did the opposite. Took what i needed from the stock harness and added it to the LS harness. Apparently its one of the cleanest harnesses the shop has even seen. I cant wait to get down there and take some pics myself. Or get more shots from my builder. He's down with the flu so we hit another damn road block. Ill get detailed pics of the A/C and alternator setups ASAP.

I also had my harness guy add the speed sensor for a 4L80E swap. Turbo or blower will be coming soon. More than likely blower, turbo isnt the best choice for muddin`. Id rather have a consistent power curve rather than a HP and TQ hit like my turbo beast. If i were 4wd i may consider a snail but locked 2wd with a hairdryer im sure id get myself in trouble alot hahahaha
