2500HD mild stereo upgrade - in progress

So I've had some stereo gear sitting around waiting patiently to be installed since 2015. I think it's time I go ahead and get this installation party started. This will go in my 2018 2500HD with 6 speaker sound system IO6/UQ3 option. Stock H/U to a line out converter, in this case an Audio Control LC2i. I'll add some resistors to keep door chime volumes at bay (or at least attempt to keep them at bay). From there I'll run 2 amps (Pioneer), one 4 channel and one 1 channel. From the amps I'll run some 6.5" components (Pioneer) in the front door and a 10" subwoofer under the back seat; dash and rear door speakers will remain stock on stock HU power.

Side note: anyone have a source for stock wiring schematics? Thanks!

I was trying to read up on what this stereo option is: If this was an older system, I would tell you to use one of the other. I read that it was a premium Pioneer speaker option, but no clue how good it is... I can understand wanting to add bass, but why do you want the 6.5"s? Is it not loud enough or is it the quality of the sound? I don't know about your factory head unit, but if you are adding speakers behind an amp you will want it to have a feature called "time alignment". Those extra amped speakers will have a slight delay like an echo. Its not really noticeable if you add just a sub, but depending on your music, and your equipment, it might be noticeable enough you will want to fix that.

If you really want to add the 6.5" components, are you planning on bi-amping them or was there two sets of components? Personally, if its a good set of components or definitely two pair, and they are amped, I would get rid of the rest of the speakers and just use those.

My plan is to keep it simple and see. When everything is installed if I'm satisfied with the results I'll leave as is, if not, I'll look into adding a DSP and/or equalizer in the mix!

so I got the Go Rhino RB20 side steps installed today, took a little longer than expected due to augmenting the hardware pack with larger washers in various locations. Overall not too bad at all.
Very happy with the finished product and a welcome addition!
