My 6.2 conversion
Hi
I might have bee asking opinions about the new 6.2 L 376/515 hp GM performance engine and got some contradictions about whether if it was good enough or no, but to be honest f*%^ contradictions and never listen to people and always see for yourself. So here's the engine i got http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/En...1225&engCat=ls The site shows that its a carburetor intake, but you can have a choice of either fuel injected or carburetor intake. The car sounds completely stock, apart from the soft cam lump from the engine. i just need about 4-5 days to make sure it runs well without any leaks and start tuning. Here's my old 5.3 http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...X/IMG_4089.jpg Now here's the 6.2 http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...X/IMG_4088.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...X/IMG_4086.jpg FYI: the car is a 2010 and has 15,000km milage its on this http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...IMG_4036-1.jpg Hopefully soon i'll video the car with some idle and other stuff Im gonna break engine then install the LT's from ARH with a magna flow catback and a GM performance air filter. Currently the only upgrade to the gear i did was install a heavy duty transmission oil cooler for my 6-speed automatic. |
you shoulda put a cam in it while it was out imo.
you're going to have fun with it ;) i wish i had a damn 6spd. |

"This is a hydraulic roller camshaft that offers up .525-inch intake and exhaust valve lift numbers and duration @ .05-inch of 226° intake and 236° exhaust. It truly is a "hot cam" that offers up an aggressive lope at idle and a buzz saw power band that never stops." |
made by who? so you recammed it already thats sweet

It was made by GM performance

Hey guys
Here are some updates These are the SSBC disk brakes which gave a huge difference in stopping http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...X/IMG_4112.jpg and here's the transmission cooler which gave a significant difference, the temperature is in a range between 55-80'C (131-176 'F) http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...X/IMG_4115.jpg I put in an order on the ARH LT's 1"78 and i'm gonna install a denali 6.2 muffler, lets keep the wolf in the sheep's clothes. More pics and vids v.v.v.v soon I just need 2 get the ARH and the muffler and tune. |
Hopefully after i install my mods and tune i'll upload more

Just a guess - (based on my experience with the 2003)you'll end up with between 350-375 rwhp.

nice!!!!! I joined tonight. I own a 2009 Silverado and considering swapping out the 5.3 for a g.m. performance parts LS3 376/480. However, I'm concerned that the swap will require alot of extensive and costly rewiring so that the swap will work. Is that the case? Everyone has varying opinions and I'm sick of hearing the bs. However, your swap is closely similar to the one I am seeking. With that, your advice and suggestions would be greatly appeciated.
