LS1 build
I think I'm getting everything figured out for this LS1 build.
LS1 stock block LS1 stock pistons LS1 stock rods All new rod, main, and cam bearings EPS 222/226 cam PRC lvl 2.5 5.3 heads LS2 timing set LS6 intake Truck Oilpan New oil pump (more than likely stock pump, haven't decided if I want to go high volume) LS7 lifters and new lifter trays 75 dry shot Underdrive pully Hoping for 400rwhp through a Circle-D 3200, PBlvl2 60e and a transfer case on 3.73. May be a bit of a stretch ... but hey, I can dream can't I? |
Doubt you will see 400 wheel hp, maybe flywheel. Still should run good.
Why are you going with an LS1? |

I'm probably going to go ahead and throw the 255lph pump in my tank while the 5.3 is in it and have it dyno'd again. turned over 310/301 before running out of fuel pressure @ 5300RPM on a mustang dyno. Already running LT's, efans, and 91oct. tune. The 310/301 was @ 13.4 AFR @ 5419RPM w/40.2 lbs of fuel pressure, it started leaning out @ 5261 Would be nice to see the difference I get between the two and get some dynojet numbers when the 5.3 is running at full RPM. |
I have seen the LS1 Camaros with a good tune, full boltons, mild 224 cam dyno 390-400RWHP.
I'm just gonna take a guess and say you should hit the 370RWHP easy. |

Copy cat..lol..That is my exact setup!Down to the 75 dry shot.. I went with the ls1 for the alum block wieght savings, and rpm potential. My truck put down 387 rwhp/377 rwtq
with my old 216/218 cam..The PRC 5.3 heads make decent power..But I could care less about numbers, my truck pulls Rustangs/Lightnings on a regular basis...and is fun to drive Good luck, and I can tell you first hand it will run really good! |

Not sure what to think of the last post.
That is a good looking timing set. Looks much better then my sloppy ass ls2 chain. What is it and how much was it? I am going to be doing heads some time down the road and plan to swap out for a tighter chain. |
