Default High 10's Yr model suggestions.

As the title suggests what yr model would you start with to build a DD 10 second truck with best bang for the buck and why?
Requirements: LS not LT
RC short bed possibly long bed.
2005-2007 Classic Chevy platform or 2008-2013 GMC only.
Preferably 4wd for street traction but 2wd not out of the question.
Either 4l80 swap or maybe 6spd.
Turbo single or twins.
Give me some guidance guys!

All the trucks got heavier thru the years, so 99-02 are lighter than 03-07 and so on and so on.
if it were me id buy a nice 95-99 rcsb 4wd, put some work into the suspension and the drivetrain you want, and youd have a really nice/fast truck imo. But you mentioned all newer stuff so i doubt thats an option but thats just me..

99-02 look the best, hands down.

I guess 03-07 if you needed a number from me.

Forgot to mention it would be a DD hence the yr models listed. Definitely lighter though.

I've had a '99 but want a later model.
I guess 03-07 if you needed a number from me.
Thanks!

It just don't get much better than that! For me I'd just prefer looks of the Chevy for that yr.

88-98 is my vote. Working on ours now with my dad. Fun project. But hard to beat a clean 99-06 chevy single cab. Turbo and some suspension work!

05-07 silverado
better rods
best looking front clip IMO
has all the creature comforts you need and nothing you don’t
the dashes don’t crack like the nnbs
the seats are more comfortable than the nnbs IMO

80e swap, big single turbo, upgraded fuel system, built rear axle or 14bolt s/f swap

Man that is sounding good if I could find a clean one. Otherwise may have to do 08+.

05-07 2500 2WD.

I'd love one of those, wouldn't even care that it would be a long bed. Finding one not beat to **** might be tough in some area's. Surely won't be as fuel friendly outside of boost for daily driving because it's heavier and a 6.0 to begin with.

Otherwise a similar year 1500 2WD is what I'd say.
