Engine harness routing help

I’m Getting ready to throw a 5.3 in my 03 Silverado short box with a single turbo. I put on a sheetmetal intake on it and was looking for some advice and pics to reroute this ugly ass factory engine that’s not flopped over the intake ...

There's enough slack in the harness to route it around the back of the engine. Just have to get creative and unwrap the factory wire loom

Is there enough slack in the harness and a hole big enough through the firewall to put your PCM on top of the glove box - and under the dash cover? This gets rid of a lot of wire out of sight and your PCM is also well hidden.

I agree there is enough slack, I took my loom off because the plastic was brittle. I replace it with mesh and moved it behind engine. I took my PCM and put it in the battery tray. Moving it into the glove box can be done but I do not think there is a hole big enough unless you took out your rubber seal on driver side. If your bored it can be done, I think there was a thread on here of someone doing something similar.

Ok so I took it all apart and got it routed to the back of the motor retapped and loomed back up with new loom(pain in the ass lol) . Now my only question now Is now that the harness is going the other way does it matter that the injector wiring is going back to front? (as in cylinder 7 is now 1st instead of cylinder 1 being 1st)

You have to make sure the injector wiring goes to the correct injector or you will never have a running truck again. Did you mark their location before tackling the project?

If you take all of the loom and electrical tape off you can break all of the wires in the harness apart. They are kind of glued together after so many years. After that the wires will be easier to train into a new position.

no I didn’t but I can hunt down the wiring specs and extend a couple on each side if I can’t get enough slack out of it .

Now thinking about it and looking at pics I believe the factory harness runs over the top and feeds the injectors from back to front . So I should be good (I hope) . I guess we’ll see this weekend when the v6 gets pulled and this b gets stabbed in
