i ended up cutting off the tailpipe (I know, i cut off a piece of art) to only having it turned down over the rear end now bc the drone was so horrible. From my experience, doing so significantly lowers the amount of drone and resonation in the cab, and it did just that so I am happy. here is a quick inside cab exhaust clip of a burnout.

How much boost are you seeing with the stock pulley and the longtubes? Stock pulley is 3.30" correct? Im gonna have a near identical setup but I have a small cam as well...I was gonna pulley down to 3.10" immediately and grab some ID850's as well, Im hoping for 7+ PSI and 550+ RWHP on 93...

stock pulley that came with my set up is 3.1 and gave me around 6-7 psi completely stock. after lts it dropped about 1psi. I see around 5-6psi now. I just picked up some 83lb injectors and plan to drop down to 2.8 pulley. hoping for around 8-9psi. I want to go cam later on with the ultimate goal over 600+ hp reliable daily.

Kit came today...it came with a 3.30" pulley which it say is supposed to be for 6PSI...gonna order a 3.10" and then see where Im at boost wise...I don't really wanna have to add a methanol setup

Definitely a 1900 kit, I just verified, you had me excited for a second they screwed up and sent me a 2300 kit lol....yah thats really weird...its part number 01-19-60-019-BL which comes up as 11-13 GM SUV 6.0/6.2....
The part number for the truck kit is different 01-19-60-015-BL which comes up as 09-10 GM TRUCK 6.0/6.2 but I would think the kits would be identical, the engine bays are pretty much identical part for part |
Mine was the MAG011960007 for 07.5-08 Silverado/Sierra with 6.0/6.2. not sure why the pulley size would be different though. your kit may have came with different injectors than mine also since yours is probably flex fuel.

When you did the install did you have to splice 2 of the MAF wires to the 2 wires coming out of the supercharger? Also, before you added your boost gauge did you just have the vacuum line at the back of the blower capped off? Any pics of where you mounted the relay for the intercooler pump?
I decided to order a 3.00 pulley and some ID850s...hopefully those injectors are enough to run E85... |

yes I did, the wires for temperature are relocated. and yes, I forgot what exactly I used, some type of rubber cap tiewrapped on tight until I did boost gauge. and here's a pic of the relay, nothing special but works and is out of the way.
Awesome thanks for the info!

Just curious, but why would you buy them before you knew if they would work or not?

found a deal on a set of injectors recently that are longer than I needed but couldn't pass up the deal. I knew I would have to space up the fuel rail to accommodate them and figured I'd just find something from the hardware store to make it work for cheap. ended up finding this instead, probably more expensive than whatever I would have found elsewhere to space it up but saved me the time and trouble. .5" spacers and bolts made to space up truck fuel rails

finally pieced the 4" intake together with tubing from siliconeintakes.com. adjusted everything and tightened it up so I could remove it as one peice. can't use it until retune since I'm swapping to card style MAF but at least it's ready to install.

Removed Denali emblems recently and installed painted door handles (factory takeoffs off eBay). Doing a few changes to the front end soon also. Will post pics when done

Got some goodies today. Will be installing a lot of parts soon before my next retune including 83lb injectors, 4" cai with card style MAF, 90mm tb and exhaust (already installed), IW 8 rib pulleys, overdrive Ati super damper, and 2.8 griptec. Should wake up the beast a lot.
I also had a cam specd for it (218/236 .612/.612 116+4) but do not plan on installing until later on. I went to a car show and someone won a "free custom specd cam" coupon from a local shop I wanted to use anyways, so I bought it from them at a discounted price and got one specd and cut, but plan on buying the supporting goodies later on to install. That should also wake this thing up. |

Few updates. Finally installed 8 rib pulleys, injectors, and CAI with card style MAF. Also put some new 285/50r20 Toyo Proxes S/T III tires on earlier this week. Having the truck tuned today

Making 10lbs of boost now and truck is a whole other animal. Night and day difference.

Started having problems with my truck going into REP sometimes at WOT bc of the throttle body. Most people suggested swapping to LS2 throttle body so I did today and my truck went into REP almost instantly and idled horribly. Will LS2 tb not work on nnbs or does my tune need to be adjusted? Here's the codes.
|
I read on CTSVowners.com that the LS2 TB wasn't compatible with the newer PCMs in the Gen 2 V's not sure ab the NNBS...Were u having issues with the stock 87mm throttle body? Maybe look into the LSA/LS9 Throttle Body, I know its an 87mm as well but im not sure if its any different from the stock truck TB.
|
Isn't there a extended warranty on the throttle actuator? Or a actuator only repair kit for your existing throttle factory body?
|
I don't think the LS3 TB is defective, I just think the tb motor isn't strong enough to handle the extra air flow. I'd really like to know if the LS2 one can work with tune adjustments, because the ECU doesn't like it right now lol.

Not a real LSX unfortunately. Picked up another L92 last night. Freshened up with new rings, bearings, and gaskets. Only had 32k miles when it was rebuilt. Has my cam, springs, and pushrods already installed. No issues with my old motor besides higher mileage (200k) may keep and build or may sell. Haven't decided yet.

Did you fix the throttle body issue?

After I install the motor, I am having a performance shop break the engine in on a dyno and tune the truck. I am going to ask the tuner about it and see if they can get the LS2 tb to work properly bc it did fine for the day or 2 I drove with it. Hopefully it will be fixed then. |
Need some torque converter suggestions. Cam was specd with intent of keeping stock converter but changed my kind. Specs are 218/236 .612/.612 116+4. Truck is driven everyday and I tow occasionally. Want it drivable and reliable. Circle D suggested their "GM 265MM PRO SERIES 6L80 TORQUE CONVERTER" with triple disk upgrade. I'm sure I do not need a high stall speed for my set up, maybe 2500-2700? What do y'all suggest?
|
I run a yank triple disk 3200 stall in my 4l80e. Easily doable. Kinda forget its even stalled at 3200. I don't daily mine but I do plan on towing a motorcycle trailer with mine in the future.
|
the 265mm will be a good unit for you and I agree you want it tight. With the small cam and relatively big cubes you dont need a ton of stall speed. This thing will be a monster down low.

I'm in the same boat as you now, so I am paying attention... |
4l65 basic bitch summit converter id imagine something built with actual quality would be even nicer to drive with But it goes to show even a standard issue product is a big improvement over stock |
I don't have a lot of knowledge or back ground with auto trans, but my 4l80 in my truck has a Hughes 3000k single disk converter and drives smooth around town. Also, my 6l90 in my Cts-v has a stock converter with trans tuning only and has been holding 650 to the wheels for 30k miles but it's also lighter than your truck and isn't towing anything.
