1977 c10 efi 454
Making a build post to log everything and hopefully get some input on issues/hiccups along the way.
History on the truck; Dad and I picked it up back in 2011 for $500 and did a complete frame off restoration all through high school. Truck was fun but I was never really into it. So when I blew the 383 the truck got parked in the back corner of my shop going on 7 years now...
Been trying to figure out what I want to do with this truck for awhile now and really wanted to do something other then a LS swap. So back in April I stumbled onto this 1997 Mercury gen 6 454 HO for $1500, guy said it had less then 20h on it and pulled it when he sold the boat. Already had a built 4l80e(had built to hold 1000hp) on a rack that I was going to put in my TBSS but when I snagged the 454 decided to pair the 2. Planning on building the truck to do cool burnouts and meet all the new members of WSP with!

Fuel Tank - Holley Sniper EFI 18gal (PN#19-185)
Controlling everything with a Holley EFI Terminator X Max (PN# 550-959)
Really wanting to get this truck running for some cruises this June and couple shows this July/August, got off the phone today with Holley and they informed me that the Terminator X kit is still on back order and is getting pushed out to mid June so that delays my build a bit but there's still alot to do till I'm really ready for it.
How I got the motor with all the boat accessories.
Hauled the truck over to my dads shop since he has more room and tore into the engine, super clean. Got the new oil pump installed.
Test fit the engine. Looked good so installed the new engine mounts.
Installed the engine and transmission.
Installed all of the different engine parts and accessories.
Pulled the rear out to install the new fuel tank, my dumbass bought a tank for a pre 72 c10 so I have to machine a couple wedge blocks to get it to fit in the rear the way I want it.
Plan on going twin turbo with this truck in the fall so I bought these super cheap headers, little brother had to do the ol'cut to fit treatment on them.

This is going to be a cool build.
Have you already bought the accel injectors? Ive had several sets of them not flow the same. One would be really low on flow numbers and a couple be really high.
I shy away from them and use the Holley injectors or deatshwerks or FIC on customers builds.
Also check out https://www.efisystempro.com/
They usually have a bunch of holley stuff in stock.

Damn, yeah I already bought the Accel injectors. Got them on sale for $380 for the set of 8, was thinking the 36lb/hr flow may be on the low side to so may just return them and get something higher quality. I'll reach out to efisystemspro and see if he's got any kits on hand. Thanks for the tip!

Go ahead and get some 80 or 120# and be set for your future turbo setup.
I just flowed some these last week and put them in a turbo 4.8.

Alright I'll order up a set to have on hand. Called efisystemspro and the lady I talked to was super cool to deal with but she informed me that the Terminator X is out nation wide and shouldn't expect it till probably late June to mid July... So guess I'll just keep getting the truck dialed as far as I can till then. Now looking at getting the QA1 Coil-Over and Crossmember kit (PN# 52623-S850) since it seems to be a great over-all front end upgrade and at a decent price compared to other companies.

Yeah the Dominator ECUs are also on national backorder with the same time frame. Lady I talked to at Holley said I'm #8 on the waitlist for my Terminator and will 1 day air ship it when its available. Guess there's a board shortage and only a couple overseas suppliers that manufacture it.
