Aside from the wheels haven't done much. I replaced the stock shocks and put slotted and drilled rotors on front to replace original ones. But I have been running down an interesting issue. In any gear if you are doing a pull above 3k it will stutter like crazy. I have put up with it until last weekend. I had atomic look at my tune and still nothing. Got new spark plugs and gapped them properly still same thing. So I thought back on what has changed I could easily revert because it didnt use to do this. So I reverted my coil pack relocate back to stock. Put them back in stock location, stock wire harness, and stock plug wires. Went out and did a pull at 2, 3, 4 gear no issue. So more than likely it is my spark plug wires I custom made from holley. There is a break somewhere or a bad crimp. All the wires ohm out just fine. At this point I dont know if I want to chase this down because I have put a little money into this relocate or make stock look nice and sell what I got. I need to make couple more pulls to really make sure it is fixed and it wasn't just a fluke thing that it worked perfect. Any opinions are welcome.
No problem man, I am for it looking clean and nice but when performance is being affected its not worth it. Holley has a set of valve covers that delete the metal bracket for coil packs and they bolt right on the covers. Not the best but better than stock.
Started paint correction last weekend on my single cab and z71. Not looking forward to my four door z71 but it will be worth it. It’s crazy how much defects it takes out, about halfway through my single cab. Below is what I used.
Thanks man, yea I’m in the same boat. Just prolonging the paint before I repaint awhile from now. I didn’t know anything about it so spent some time on YouTube. Meguiars is solid for the compounds but the buffer was double the price. So I got all my hardware and pads from griots.
I've found the 105 to be difficult at best to work with in some situations, hot/humid and tends to dust up like crazy. It'll work harden fast and be dang near impossible to get off. If you run into any of these conditions you might try the Meg's 101 pro foam cut or the 100 pro speed compound. In my experience, they both cut like 105 but have better working times, less dust, and easier to work with in less than ideal weather conditions.
I would agree 100 percent. I would like to do big areas but by the time first pass is done second pass it’s dry. And yea real hard to wipe off. I let the 205 then sealant usually take it off. But will get something else once I use this up. May try your suggestions for a replacement!
Try the Griots Correcting Cream in place of M105 and Griots "Perfecting Cream" in place of M205. Their "BOSS" system of polishes are awesome. They are 100% dustless, have a long working time and easy to remove. I've tried many systems and in the last two years since I found the BOSS... all my other compound/polishes just sit on the detail cart. When you need a lite maintenance polish in six months or so try the Perfecting Cream...
I'm sure your Meguiars twins (M105/M205) will get lonely too
The W, you could always try the 205 on your most aggressive pad and see if that gives you the results you want without having to mess with the extra work of the 105.
RedXray, you using the whole BOSS system, pads/polisher as well? I have a Flex 3401 and bunch of Lake Country force hybrid pads...not trying to start all over there. I guess at some point I'll pick up some BOSS creams and give them a go.
