Gauge pod looks great. I can't see because of the shadows, but did you paint the pod to match your interior?

No but I might. The black on the gauge pod is just a little off from the black from the interior. I am a perfectionist so I am sure at some point it will drive me nuts LOL.

I read and found out that even if you hold the traction control button for a long time till it flashes "traction control" and "stabilitrack: disabled it's not 100% disabled. It would still kick in when I did a burn out and would try and correct the truck when WOT going down the track. By pulling the fuses it allows all the power to the tires and leaves throttle control up to me

I did redo the air intake with the new silicone parts but I decided to do it the day before I came back up to work so while it is finished I still need to paint the mid tube I used. I found some different PVC than I had used in my previous setup since it worked better for what I was trying to do.... it just is an ugly seafoam color LOL.

So don't judge it quite yet, it's air tight, 4" ID and works amazing. Just needs some black paint on the mid tube to dress it up. Ill finish that up in a few weeks when I get back home.

Ones a cone and ones flat?

I don't know the flow differences, most of the cones ones I see come on their CAI systems. Not sure of any vehicle manufacture that uses the cone filter as OEM, most are flat style.

Well the flat filters are designed to fit inside the factory air box which is sealed so it would be much less likely to get water into the filter. I know the K&N CAI is an open element filter so I guess that would be more prone to getting wet, but you would have to be doing some serious off roading to get water up there I would think.

Volant's makes a nice system, I had one on my 07 Avalanche.

Guess I am confused, why are you so concerned about water getting to the filter?
