Default 6.0 Gto Ls2 in Tahoe

I have a 2005-06 Ls2 out of a Pontiac Gto that I would like to swap into my 2005 Tahoe. I'm curious as to what will need to be done to make everything work. I've read a lot that it's a simply drop in and plug and play deal. I've also read there are some things that may need to be changed or flashed/programmed. Just trying to get my ducks in a row and not be caught off guard as I would like to do the swap in a weekend and be up and running with minimal down time. Any tricks or advise would be greatly appreciated.

So, all of your accessories will bolt up. No issues there.

It will need tuning.

I thought the GTOs were 58x 4x crank/cam, whereas the Hoe is 24x 1x.

I also thought the LS2 had the knock sensor on the side of the block. I might be wrong on both counts.

Other than that, it’s a drop in.

Don't forget the pan. Gto is front sump, truck is rear. The sump might interfere with steering linkage.

So swap pans, windage, pickup. I'd prob run the truck manifold too instead of an idler relocate to clear the car intake.

If you take it down to a long block and put your acc. Intake etc and get the knock sensor extension it's a simple exchange now if you want to run the car intake you can find these spacers on eBay that will allow it and they work good I have used several and there never been any issues

Awesome! Thank you guys. I’m gunna run the fast ex-efi 2.0 for all my tuning. Didn’t even think about the oil pan. Good call! Knock sensors are on the sides. Didn’t know about the extensions thanks guys for the info. Anything else anybody can think about?

Why would you spend so much for a tuning software when you can just re-program the factory computer for 1/5th the cost.

The install of the motor is just a start. There are going to be many mods made to the truck over time and I don't want to deal with Going to a tuner every time I change something.
