I gotchya. I'm doing the same thing with a 08 4.8L that's in a 72 C10 truck. Used the stock rails/intake and C5 filter/regulator. I agree, for simplicity's sake, it can't be beat. Those filters are about $20 lol

if/when I go with boost, I’m sure I’ll have to come up with a different fuel setup but it will work for now. Which I’ve heard of people running those regs on 500+whp cars

If you are keeping stock wheels, a 285/75/16 is about as large as you want to go. Those wheels are really narrow, 6.5" IIRC and from what I've read some people say 285 size works fine, some people didn't like how they rode. These were probably all duramax owners so heavier front ends can exacerbate problems.

285/75/16 is a really nice size on these 2500HD though.

I have a lot of the wiring diagrams for my 01 2500HD on my google drive here https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...dTTIHKfL3SkgLM if you need some. If any missing there I can post a link to a repository with downloads for basically everything.

Well I was on my way to buy those wheels I mentioned in the earlier post and happened to check for new ads one more time. Found some chrome H2 17s with 315/70/17 BFGs. For $100 cheaper and over half tread. Plus only 10 miles away. So I went and grabbed those. Stock keys cranked, with minimal trimming = no rub lock to lock 👍🏻 Seller also had two 285/70/16 and I grabbed those for $20 bucks so I’ll have a half decent spare. Decent day I’d say. Now just get the intake and throttle body, and big Trans cooler on before I take it to get tuned Tuesday. Shop said he will activate the electric fans in the tune, so I can put those on after the session instead of driving 1hr+ with no fans or getting towed.

I been waiting til the last minute to put the intake and tb on, block the egr etc before I take it to tune. Went ahead and threw some tr5 plugs in. Just Developed a small barely audible tick, do believe a lifter. If it goes Oh well, gives me a good reason for a cam and stuff.

I may cut the stock muffler off before I take it to tune. I’ve seen how restrictive they are. The Cats are already gutted, and it has a small rumble now. I don’t want it loud at all, a little rumble over stock. Maybe a vibrant resonator and a 18+” muffler dynomax or magnaflow do the trick? Whatever I buy will be welded back behind the downpipe once I get this turbomounted up.
