Had a small hiccup and couldnt get a dynotune, i did at least get the segment swap complete and have since been driving it back and forth to work. i have an appointment this coming tuesday. should be smooth sailing and ill have some dyno sheets to show. LS6 is completely bone stock pullout, aside from the lts, fast tb,cai. 4l80e is also bone stock running stock converter. im hoping for 330whp maybe?

Just got back from dyno tune from New Era out of Victor,NY truck made 318whp 310tq 2nd gear pulls, so should make about 330-340 as expected. Not disappointing for a nearly stock build.

Not at all. Even a small torquey cam will bump those even better. Those starting numbers are better than most cam 4.8/5.3's. You have a great platform to start with!

Cleaned everything up thus far, re sealed entire engine new main covers all delco goods. Purchased all new hardware because im a nut about oem hardware, thanks GM Performance for all the help tracking down part numbers(no one likes a hex head smooshed into a lock/flat washer. As far as the 4L80 goes, gave it a steam clean removed tail for inspection and reseal. replaced speed sensors and hardware with oem. tracked down oem part numbers for correct converter and flywheel bolts. reusing the stock 4L80 fly and torque from the express van as it has a correct spacer attached and both are new already. fresh paint , new diptube/indicator all oem. I Should have it dropped in this week, choosing to do this at home rather than my shop is proving to be a terrible idea lol figured it would give me more time when i am free and it has not. ill add some photos as i go along. If anyone is doing a similar build feel free to chime in! Also if anyone is looking for current gm part numbers for any of the engine/transmssion hardware i have it all down to the tail shaft housing bolts. (like i said im a nut for oem hardware, that all started when i didnt want to run the bell bolts that are studded on the end to secure various bits as well as wanting to the swap to look stock/factory. Thanks everyone in advance!
Hey I have one too that I want to build but I am curious on what you used for a driveshaft since the 4l80e is longer than the 4l60e?

Default Update...so the ls6 went bye bye

After completing the build and putting 10,000 miles on it,I was too worried about blowing up the LS6 so I sold it complete and removed it. Just as i was ready to install a LQ9 I had, a customer came into my shop with a high mileage 6.2 denali with a random lifter drop issue. Turns out non AFM truck and flex fuel. He wanted it changed out with a low mileage motor regardless. Paid the core and kept it. So the rebuild began, went a bit overkill tanked everything, only reused the castings and the crank. polished it out, cleaned up the block bore and fitted it with forged rods and pistons. Went with a pretty stout cam, hoping for 500+ wheel. We will see once I finish it up. I’ll keep this updated.
