My 258k mile sierra only had 35-40psi cold but held 40psi easy just cruising around.

That's reassuring. Thanks!

Cool. Fortunately this is a non VVT non AFM LQ4, so I should be good.

$21 dollars in fact. Ordered it Saturday, it arrived today and I had it in before dinner. Didn't get a chance to test drive, but I'm sure that was the cause of the noise. Old bushing would slop around when wiggled. New bushing went on nice and tight.

The truck has been on the road a few weeks now. Got a couple hundred miles on it since all the work was done. Set a check engine light on day one. Turns out both the brand new Delphi knock sensors were bad right out of the box. Swapped them out for AC delco units and all is well now.

I thought I was fixing up a truck for occasional towing and hauling. It's become my wife's daily driver. Met her for lunch the other day. Here's my two white LQ4/80e Chevy trucks.

Funny that your wife is driving the ole beater. Is that by choice?

BTW, the oil pressure in my LS6 has been about 30psi at idle since I bought it around 90k. I have 190k on it now.

Ha! She is driving the beater over the minivan by choice. She likes how high it sits and looks don't matter much to her. Probably why we're still together after all these years. Given the choice between the Silverado and the S10, she would take the S10 but that's where I draw the line.

I'm going to see where the oil pressure ends up once it really warms up out here. Might switch to a little thicker viscosity if it drops any lower. I hate seeing the "LOW OIL PRESSURE" warning when I start it.

Got that wheel/tire upgrade done today. I still need to clean them, but overall I'm really loving the look. It's funny... The nicest thing on this truck are the free wheels.

I am a big fan of the looks of the stock wheels on these trucks. To bad they weren't a tad bit wider to accommodate larger tires.

Default Tires

You can run a 285/75/16 which is a 33’ tall and roughly 10” wide the wheels will hold a 315/75/16 which is a 35” but you would have to do a lift also but anyway if you want a taller tire these will work
