Do you have a wheel/tire combo picked out?

 

Not yet. Have not put that much thought into it. I like the look off the bogart stuff. Had a set on a foxbody and absolutely loved them.

 

Back on the ground. Time to do hydroboost, line lock, and plumb a brake system

 

How does the rear feel when you do a bounce test?

 

Good and smooth. Need to make something that connects the bottom bar to the rear so I can jack it up by the bar.

 

Bad *** for sure.

 

Basically the only thing that is from Calvert is the leafs and the tubing, the pivot and leaf spring mount is from 417 and Funkhouser.

Edit, i re read the thread and answered my own question lol

 

I pulled the 417 front mounts and switched them to the Funkhouser stuff. Very nice stuff. Fit, finish, and such.

 

Ordered a hydroboost unit from a 04 2500 6.0

Pressing out one of the studs because it doesn’t match the holes in firewall.


Had to open up the top of the hole in the firewall a little for the hydroboost unit to clear.

Used this ti clean it up after the rough bit.

You can see the top of the hole where i opened it up a bit.

Down by the sticker you can see the hole that doesn’t line up. I will either drill the hole in the firewall or make a different hole in the mounting plate. Leaning towards making different hole in the mounting plate.

3 bolts holding it in so I can work on the brake pedal.

The mounting point for the rod coming out of the hydroboost needs to be higher on the brake pedal. You can see where I marked it with black marker.

Couple hammer shots and knocked it out of the factory spot.

Drilling new spot.




Had my buddy weld it in after drilling a 5/8ths hole and dropping it in.



will get the pedal back in it tomorrow. Hopefully I don’t have any issues with the brake light switch being higher and hitting anything under the dash. Getting that pedal out wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be. I can’t believe the whole clutch pedal assembly in these trucks are plastic.
