03 rclb joe dirt build.. 4L80e and single turbo 4.8
OK here is the beauty!
2003 reg cab long bed silverado
265k!!!!
slipping 4L60e
just broke in 4.8 lol
here it is how i brought it home, (last week)
future plans
4L80e trans swap
circle d converter
hp tuners efi
80lb injectors
e-85 fuel
single turbo (joe dirt piping, mani flip kit)
I want to lower the truck a decent amount and plan on still towing my car trailer with it on occasion. Dont want it to be retarted low but want it to look decent.
I was thinking of a 2/4 drop, and wanted to do it as cheap as possible (obvisoiusly!)
If I do a flip kit on the rear end what will i need to bring it back up to get the 4" drop? a 2" "lift" shackle?
I also wanted to see what peoples opinoin were on the front end..
springs only or spindles only? both?!

You could do a flip kit and 1" lift shackles to get a 5" drop. That's as "high" as you can go with a flip kit. And the flip kit is quite simple to install. The downside is that you will want to do a C-notch at that drop. I think with a 4" drop (hangers and shackles) you can get away with no C notch.
Up front I would do drop springs. They're very easy to install and the ride is no worse than stock in my case. My next choice would be 2" drop spindles.

Cool project! If they make a 2" lift shakle, I am sure you can use it..I have only seen a 1"...And if you are using a truck intake you will need to use a spacer on the fuel rails to use those, and pigtails...but yes, I used those on my last truck...They will fit a ls1 intake as is

Thinking of changing it from a front facing turbo kit to a underbody turbo kit...
I had a 6.5 non turbo diesel in a 85 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup, and was going to use these on it, but if you know me I usually (always) change my mind!
Hot side is a 3" vband with a 3" 90 degree mandrel pipe going to a T3 housing.
Mocal makes a good oil return system for the scavenge pump, and i bought a one way valve for the oil return. (not pictured)
What do you guys think? Underbody boost or Under hood?

You got longbed specific hangers right? I think only djm makes them. Here's mine at 3/4.5-ish (bt coils, shackles/hangers, overload delete).
*** end is still a bit high.
