Default 02 RCSB Build

I've been around the site for little bit, I really don't post that often. I do more more reading and searching than anything. Try to avoid posting repetitive cam questions, etc haha. Anyway this is my truck when I first got it. Keep in mind this just my daily driver, for now..

Completely stock, 64,000 miles. It was a really cool find. 4x4 with a automatic transfer case, 5.3. It was a w/t so it had vinyl seats and flooring. Power windows and locks. The very first thing I did to it was yank the bed off, changed my fuel pump and put lowering shackles. After all that took it to an exhaust shop and got a magnaflow welded in.

Since then I've slowly been trying to convert it to an LT. So far I just got factory power mirrors, factory fog lights in, and a center console. As for the exterior I painted my mirror caps, got a hd hood, billet grille, hids, z71 tahoe valance lowered the truck to a 2/4. Then got some 20" centerlines. I eventually plan on finishing the interior to make it seem just like an LT truck. I hope to get 1 inch lower in the front and rear. Then finally get my front bumper cap and grill painted.

As for my engine modifications right now I've got an airaid MIT with a AEM drop in. American racing headers, (the fitment was damn near perfect and was easy to install.) I've still got my magnaflow muffler, 145 amp alternator and a black bear tune. I've got ls1 fans and a trans cooler sittin around I need to put in hah.

The history about this truck is boring but here's the cool thing i'm working on now. I got myself a marine lq9 I'm rebuilding. Not in very good condition though, the guy before me managed to run it lean and blow the rings on 2 pistons. The head on the bank where the 2 pistons failed was done.

So there's where I'm at now. Just waiting for a weekend where I can tear down to the block, take it into a machine shop and get it bored. Then finish up overhauling it. Since my heads are smoked I was thinking of l92 heads, I just got a pretty good deal on a complete l92 intake. Havent decided on a cam yet, suggestions would be nice Now as for a transmission I'm running a stock 60.. I'm considering on building it but I've got a long ways before I get to that. I've never really typed up anything like this. Hope it wasn't too painful to read and hope to keep posting more about this build!

Well, it was pretty slow today at work so I bought an engine stand off a coworker and decided to tear my engine down.

Calling up a machine shop tomorrow to see if they're open and going to get a quote on boring or sleeving along with the size bearings, pistons, and rings.

Looks like that LQ was in a boat, judging by the motor mounts and wiring harness. Nice build so far.
