Default 2001 Powerstroke- building a TT kit for it

we are going to start fabbing a TT kit for my buddies 2001 Ford deisel- he has full bolt ons and a programmer and cant get past 10 seconds in the 1/8th

so he wants twins which i said i would help him with
mainly we want to know how to add more fuel to accomadate the twin garrett 62-1 trim turbos-

will the stock fuel injectors be enough for the 60+ lbs of boost we plan?

also its a manual- will it be able to hold the extra torque?

I wouldnt waste your time.. Theres a reason nobody has made a kit for the 7.3L yet. The heads suck and you'd be better off with a Garret GTP38R single, some injectors, some nitrous and a couple of boxes stacked..

He'd be better off with an automatic! With the currently listed upgrades, that thing should be in the low 14's at least, which is closer to 9.30's on the 1/8th. Jammin' that wide gearbox can't be helpful in a drag race...

Exactly, spend that money getting an auto in there. The stock turbo system can take him a lot farther than he has gone. Getting fuel or an auto should be the next step to making him faster. Twins are still sweet!

I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would reply anyway. The 7.3 needs fuel to make respectable power. It needs some injectors and could use a HPOP upgrade too, then some turbo upgrades. And being an '01 chances are it has PMR rods, which like to leave the block in an unhappy fashion. Twins are nice but not needed yet, it will barely help him at all right now. And to the poster who said that truck should run low 14's, HAHAHA, no chance will it come close with those mods! He is many thousands of dollars away from low 14's.

Just depends on the goals really, even the stock 7.3 gaskets and head bolts will take a bunch of abuse with a good tune. But it is a good idea to at least stud the heads.

Call David at DI Performance . No one with a ford has gone faster or quicker in the 1/4 than he has. A set of injectors, a GT38BB turbo, and good tuning will the truck 14's easy.
