Default window switch I am new to nitrous

Hey all probably a noob question but is a window switch used to start spraying at a certain RPM and stop spraying at a higher RPM. I ask this meaning is this how you dont spray thru a shift? I mean do you start at 3000 RPM (or so) and stop at 5500 RPM (or so ) and shift at 6000 RPM then it will spray again till it reaches your max again?
I hope this is clear.
My main question is how to not spray during a shift...

yes, exactly. You set the rpm in the window switch (actually a controller) which opens and closes the circuit to the solenoids. I have one but I spray thru.

well ok so you just spray till it pops... No this is new to me I am not sure I want to start down this path but it sounds fun also. my tranny is stock with the transgo parts, vette 2nd servo and billet 3-4 servo. I did not know if most sprayed thru or tried to "baby" them to get more life...
Thanks
Dave

Spraying thru is hard on the transmission, so is having the hit on and off and on again. Pick your poison.

A loose converter will eat up a lot of the harshness of the shifts. Personally, I wouldn't spray through the shifts if your trans isn't built.

Just remember the stock trans is on borrowed time, regardless of a window switch or not. 2 of my built transmissions didn't even get a dose of the gas and they still left me with two gears. I lost 1 spraying a 100 shot with a window switch, 2 with just motor passes, 1 on a 150 shot spraying through the shifts, and 1 on a 2 stage 200 shot spraying 100 out of the hole and 100 in second gear all through the shifts. I've given up on the 4l60e all together now.

yea I am already thinking ahead to a new tranny I hope this will last a while, I am not easy on it even though I am pretty much stock for now.
I have thought about a 400 turbo with a gear vendors over drive.
oh well thanks again for the info.

I have a 4l65e, stock now but Im putting in my vette servo and increasing the line pressure this week. Ive sprayed my 100 shot a few times now and it seems ok... I have the window switch set for 2600-5600rpm with no gear lockout at all.
