Who's using a filter

How critical is a filter?

I feel like every setup I see around here doesn't have them, and I don't have one.

So what's the deal boys?

The danger is any debris clogs the solenoid or jet. Debris can be from junk in the tank (how cleanly is the place where you have it filled? Do they use a gravity feed or a pump?), and filings from tightening the fittings. Depending on the design of the filter, it could act as an expansion chamber for the nitrous, which you dont want and will decrease the performance of the system. None of the guys around here use them either.

So is that the risk we take? Go balls to the wall without one?

I never used one. My nitrous dealer has an inline filter on their setup. that's good enough for me.

Had a piece of trash get under the plunger one time at Amarillo. Not something I want to experience again.. You can get fittings that go into solenoids that have screens to catch trash.. You'd be surprised what you'll catch..

So are you running these screens or filters?

Screens

The fill station here in town has a filter and to be honest I have never ran one and just depended on that but I have had buddies who have had the plungers in the solenoids get stuck open. Nitrous spraying when you don't want it to isn't fun. Like i said I have never had an issue but I don't go through bottles like most of my friends do. Be surprised though how much trash gets by and what you will catch in the screen.
