Knock Retard. Your sensors pick up detonation (the actual pinging noise) and reduce timing to get rid of it. You will hear mention of false KR. Some think that a rattling muffler of other vibrating hard parts can be falsely detected as KR by the sensors and cause the PCM to pull timing unnecessarily. From what I understand the PCM can only pull a certain amount, maybe 10*, so if you get really lean youre still gonna blow a piston. I hope I explained it right.

I did have a transgo shift kit and servo and aux tranny cooler...but that is it.

yep...had some KR after about 4000 and it was a dry shot...so i'm sure it was plenty lean...as a friend of mine put it...my tranny prolly saved my motor

(<----Increase this smiley's size 10X) If you ran a 125 dry shot, I'm gueesing your friend is right. And it lasted 6 runs??? I would have bet once, maybe twice befor things started rattling inside the cylinders.

You should try going for a methanol kit instead of nos. i was told its better and actually give more life on your motor. these kits are fitted especailly for us supercharged or turbo motor's. gives more timing and boost with alot more cooler air.

has anyone tried those new gm direct port nozzles that plug into the injector opening and then you plug your injector back in...I understand they are only 1/4" tall and we have about 5/8-3/4" clearance under the j tube... but it is close...anyone try it?... i want to go this route if it will fit.

Direct port nozzle would be the ideal set up. It would prevent nitrous from being sprayed through the radix and oxiding the rotors and/or housing.

You could probably get a 75-100 shot. I would like to know the answer to this quesion as well.
