Default Swapping 4.8 to 5.3
Hello I’m new to the group and I want to swap my 2006 Chevy 4.8 to a 5.3 . What do I need to know before doing this swap or what extra do I have to get to make it work?

Well,

Everything moves over to the 5.3. EVERYTHING.

A updated tune would be advisable. But as far as the longblock, it'll bolt in just fine. Move your accessories/tinware over.

Thanks. Do the computer has to be changed out to operate that 5.3? I’ve been hearing mixed comments about that

Nope. Don’t need to change it. A tune would do it justice though.

It should idle and drive on the 5.3 tune. It won’t be great but it should run.
