2014 5.3 80k miles, recently had a TX ‘stage 2’ cam, lifter, AFR delete, CAI, 1 7/8 long tube headers, performance Y Pipe, high flow cats, into a single ‘high performance’ borla system that is dumped before the axle, installed and dyno tuned.

The rest of the vehicle is stock. Stock 17 inch wheels/tires, gearing, trans, convertor etc. The tune said the convertor should be swapped to a looser one due to the cam. I don’t know the stock stall, but will in the very near future, switch to a 2200/2500 stall, and have the trans gone through while it’s out.

The tuner said he experience vibrations at 105 mph, so he kept it locked in 3rd gear and didn’t go any faster as these trucks are known to let their drivelines go when abused.

To compensate for this, he stated, “add 30 hp/tq to the entire curve..

Granted, this is not a race truck, just a nice daily driver with some extra power.

But, does this dyno chart look correct, or is there issues?

The tuner, is a well-known and highly recommended, so I don’t think he did the job incorrectly.

Another issue, is, the shop doing the work for me towed my vehicle there and back for the tuning, but I wasn’t provided anything other than this dyno sheet. I don’t know if he changed shift points, adjusted throttle pedal, what octane it’s tuned for, literally nothing. No, I have not contacted the tuner yet, but I will to see about getting this information.

Who was the tuner?

With a cam and the additional mods I would have expected a little bit more to be honest. With only a cat back on my truck, with 35" tires, I put down 325 to the wheels.

I won’t post someone’s name on the web without talking with him first. Just a respect thing.

You’re at 325 to the wheels, this is 355, with a note on the bottom saying add 30 across the board, so 385 to the wheels. 60-ish hp seems a bit low with cam and full exhaust. But, I don’t know anything about the tune. Which is my main issue currently. Without any paperwork, I don’t know what they did, or tuned it to, such as what type of fuel octane.

Without knowing much more, we’re pissing in the wind.

I would want to see a before/after comparison personally. The newer trucks can pick up 30-40hp/tq under the curve when they’re tuned.

Meaning 2500-4500 rpm, not the top end.

What else do you want to know?

unfortunately there is no before dyno run. But im sure in here or a google search can find a 100% stock 2014 dyno run for comparison.

True. Once I get home I can install a better driveline that can actually take the abuse. That way I can get a full run on the dyno and know exactly what’s going on.

Truck is being picked up from the shop this weekend. Dropped, 24s, full exhaust, dyno’d, aligned, ready to rock for next month when I get home. I've still got to fab/install/body work the Grant Kustoms 3 piece roll pan, and then I'll be ready to add the graphics. Then I will be changing the chrome bumper and adding a painted one, adding the painted grill, swapping out the old non projector headlights to the new quad projector headlights from RETROFITSOURCE, and deciding if I will shave the rear tailgate handle. That will almost be it for the outside of the truck. Want to add the big brake rotors from Baer. The new 24s are an open style wheel, so the brake rotor upgrade will need to happen to look right. I say almost, because I still want to add some graphics, a few dings in the rear doors and strip the roof as it was showing signs of breaking down. Lastly will move to the interior, as I want to add some red accents, and or possibly katzkin seat covers with some red in them. Of course got to plan on audio upgrades, and still up in the air on the Linksys head unit. Where to mount the back up camera?

Well, this pic and a few others that got sent to me are the first time I have seen my truck since july 2020. And it went from washed and clean, to a small desert rain storm and bam, lookin all dirty.. ugh.

My brother picked up the truck and it’ll be sitting waiting for me to get back home.

At this point I have no idea how it rides, feels, sounds, drives, going to feel like an entirely new truck.

You can see in this picture I need to install the roll pan, and the inserts for the wheels that cover the lugs. The new grill, headlights and bumper are all waiting for me to get home..

Before and after comparison.

I still feel this is the last good looking body style for GM. The late model bodies just look like imports, I am not a fan.
