Cool New Guy from Oklahoma

Well, I've used this forum in the past for mods on my old truck, but didn't really feel it was worth joining for since it was just a mostly stock 2004 5.3l Silverado. Now that I'm in a 2008 Sierra Denali with the 6.2 and AWD, I figured it was time to join up.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, been married 5 years this June, run my own window cleaning business for 7 years, wife's a school teacher, no kids...now the truck!

It's a 2008 GMC Sierra Denali. Had 121k miles when I signed the papers. I picked it up on February 25th. It's a local one owner truck, so it's spotless underneath. It's black with tan/cocoa interior. It did not come with the optional 20s, but the 18s don't look awful, and the tires are new.

Here's how it looked before signing and taking delivery. It had the full grandpa accessory package; step bars, vent visors, bug deflector, and front license plate bracket. Old truck is there too.

Here's how it was all shined up after pick up. I removed the front plate bracket and bug deflector before having them detail it.

I've since removed the step bars and the vent visors. Here's a couple showing that done.

As far as the cosmetic plans, I've already got some Escalade mirrors that just need painted before installing. I'll go lower since it's AWD isn't really intended for off-roading. I'm thinking a 3/5 drop with the McGaughy's kit. I may go 4/7, but I'm just worried about the front CV angles. I'm going to get the windows tinted, including the eyebrow. I'm leaning towards 5% because I've never gone that dark before, and I've never had a black vehicle that I wanted to mod before. I've always gone 20%, so I'm really undecided currently. I'll decide soon though since it's already warming up around here.

Now performance wise, I plan to get long tubes, MIT and high flow filter, and maybe a different exhaust. For tune, I was given a heckuva deal on a SuperChips programmer so that's in it right now. I'll get a proper tune after I've gotten the other mods done, but that won't be for a couple years at least. I use it for work, so I won't get too crazy with the performance mods. Besides, the upgrade from the 04 5.3l is a pretty big performance mod by itself.
