New guy looking for advice
Hey all, I'm now to this forum but not to gm trucks or the LS platform. I justed parted a mustang that I LS swapped a few years ago. Now its time to move onto a new project, either a NBS or NNBS single turbo LS build. I already have the motor, 80e, and turbo goodies. Now I just need to figure out what truck to seek out.
1. Must be a scsb.
2. Want to retain heat, A/C, and all of the basic interior features.
3. Would like to find a truck that has a rear end that is capable of dealing with 600 - 700 hp.
So, based on these must haves I'm curious to know if I can start with a v6 scsb, since they're available cheap. Will the rear end in these trucks handle any power or are they some crappy little 10 bolt that a stock 5.3 will destroy? Also, will the A/C compressor from a v6 truck bolt to a 5.3 LS or will I need to have lines made up to adapt?
I'm not concerned with engine management, I'm going the route of megasquirt or Holley.
So, anybody care to point me in the direction of which truck I should start with?

I have a 95 chevy 2wd pickup with a 4.3 im planning on motor swapping.
Do you find the LS better than the 5.7 vortec?
Looking for the same advice. Want to swap my rear as well.
Suspension was just done as well as the clutch.
Looking for a rear end and opinions on what the best motor would be to swap.
I found a 5.7 Vortec 406hp turn key crate for under 5k.
Havent looked for a used LS1 but would it be close to the same HP?
If close to the same HP will it be harder to get in than the 5.7?
