Default Minnesota Silverado ss

Recently picked up a lower millage 04 awd ss, don't really plan on doing much to it as i want to keep it reliable and I need more for my hobbies then chasing down my friends cars. I'll probably just get a tune, cat back or just a muffler, and a high-end CD player.
Just seeing what other people do and have.
one day I'd like to big block swap a mustang or 5.3 swap a s10 but need a bigger garage first.

Keep it washed, these MN winters keep getting worse on the roads. Over use of salt and brine crap is murder on these things.

What are some of your other hobbies? Looks like cruisers, guns, drag racing and your truck, at least!

I live in the SW, so rust is not a problem for me. But I have seen a sad number of GMT800s rusted through. The rear quarters (behind the wheel) trap water that gets in under the tail light. There are drains, but they are small and easily clogged by small rocks and debris.

Inside the front fender at the door is a problem area if you have the factory foam type material in there

of course all the holes in the frame are cause for concern. Your truck looks very pretty, I hope you get years of use out of her! 5 spokes on this body style has always got me excited.

My other hobbies are hunting, fishing, sleeping and gaming.
There is a coating I can and will be doing to help slow down the rust but with it being MN and a truck I cant do much about it. I want to get 8 to 10 years out of it which should be to hard to do. Once it gets to rusty ill have a power plant for something in the future.
