Minnesota Colorado V8 owner looking for more power
New member here. Been browsing here a bit looking for ideas to get more power out of my 5.3 powered Colorado. Seems like theres a ton of info here on these motors. Cam and headers are for sure in my plans, maybe ported heads.
Here's my truck. 2009 Colorado ZQ8. Factory aluminum 5.3/4L60. Its my daily driver all year round when its too cold to ride my motorcycle. It's been lowered 2" since I took this picture.
I don't have much experience with motor work on cars, but I did build myself this 117" 128hp (started as 96", maybe 70hp) motor for my Harley last winter, so I understand how everything needs to work together to build a solid performing motor.

Cam and headers would be great. If it were me I would put a little blower on it and call it a day. Money well spent trouble free and runs like hell for a reliable ride. 20k miles on my Whipple and not a hiccup. Drives like stock except it feels like 500 cu in instead of 325. Just a bolt on.

Well maybe not quite but yes a fantastic idea! Not much substitute for cubes especially with the better heads. I would love an L86 myself and is the main reason I don't mod my L83. No rush
