Welcome! My advice is to get a 6.0, high stall converter, and custom tune. I'm rolling on 37's and 1st gear is nothing but tire spin, lol. Check the sig VVVVVV

Thanks everyone for your advice. I'm not looking to drag race this truck. I just want extra something. Kinda like having a WOW factor. Guess I'll be ditching the shorties and shopping for some long tube headers.. Gonna be a long road isn't it? Horsepower is one of those things that there is never enough of. But thanks again for the input. I will put it to use. Although my buds gonna be ticked when I cancel the Diablo/predator purchase!!! haha

First welcome to the site.

Listen if he's your friend he'll understand. Besides getting rid of it will be your best move. The reason why I say this a ECM tune will enable you for more options, where the Diablo keeps you to what Diablo offers.

Seeing you have the rear-end and the trans done you're moving in the right direction. Get the mods done before you tune, unless you have the means for the before and afters. CAI, E-fans, and Pulley would be the first jump. When your ready to get into the Cam.. I have a 220/220 Comp Cam, and you may want to go a little more aggressive, mine's moderate.

Thank you for the Cam offer. It might be just what I need due to the fact that this truck is also my daily driver. I don't want to get too carried away. What do you think an estimated cost of a Pro tune would run? Someone mentioned earlier that they know someone pretty close to here that can do it but I wanna have my ducks in a row first.. CAI is ordered and I'm still looking for underdrives... Thanks again..

Tunes can run from $250 on up depending what you're looking for, ie dyno or street tyno, or even both. Just make sure you have a reputable tuner and see what program their running.

I do have a question though. Why do you have such an aggressive trans for a 5.3L? And is there any converter?

The trans has been rebuilt due to me shucking second gear.. Too many smoke shows with 36 inch swampers on. My trans shop said he would upgrade the servos and basically double the size of the clutch packs for not a very big difference in money. I couldn't turn it down! The converter I believe is A stock level replacement..
