I'm installing a lq4 , 4l80e in my truck build. I got the heads off (317) it has dished piston with fly cut for the valves. Just woundering the best bag for my buck for hp. Thinking a cam ? And flattop Pistons. Headers. Any sustions..
Remember this was suppose to be a low dollar build, but we know how that goes..lol

I was thinking on milling the heads to clean them up. Maybe a cam and a set of flattop Pistons, allready got the headers. Any suggestions on cam, and Pistons? And what kind of hp would I gane by keeping the rest stock.
Thanks

Just leave the pistons, it's why I suggested you mill the heads to raise compression. But it's not my wallet that's paying for this stuff.
As said, choose the cam you wish to run based on other factors like the converter stall. If you want to stay with a stock stall pick a cam that's smaller, maybe in the 212/218 range or see what the BTR cam's are at.
Too many factors to guess at HP gain, it really comes down to how well the tune is because anyone can just toss parts at a motor. A guess would be somewhere in the low 300's to the ground.
