I had been looking for a truck to drive while I the swap the motor in my Honda. I was originally looking for a mid-sized truck, but the guys over at GRM (grassroots motorsports forum) convinced me that a full sized truck would be a better fit.
I was originally looking for an OBS RCSS, but every example I could find was either beat up or horribly overpriced. I eventually expanded my search to the NBS silverados, and ended up finding this one close by for 5.5k
As the title says it's a '06 RCSB WT with the 4.3L, NV3500 5-spd, and 3.23 gears. Surprisingly, the V6 moves this truck pretty well, apparently the truck only weighs 4200 lbs. Of course I would have preferred a V8, but the 4.3L will suit my needs for now. I eventually will swap in a 5.3.
So far I've added a 3.5" aluminum cold air intake, and a Thrush welded muffler. I wont be doing any more mods to the V6, but I will be swapping the rear end gears to 4.10. I also picked up a Suburban sway bar from the junkyard.
The truck came with trailer brakes and pulled the trailer + accord like a champ.
Thanks for checking out my truck. I look forward to participating in the forum.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I'm worried about a 6.0 destroying the nv3500, also the price difference between the 5.3 and 6.0 is kinda hard to justify. My goal is just a nice driver with adequate towing power. I have considered overboring the 5.3 to use LS1 pistons. It seems like a better option for the money.
Anyways, time will tell. Maybe I will come into some money and just do a 6.0, 4l80e swap.

I love my 5.3 it's pretty quick and the torque makes it that much more fun. Going from the v6 to the 5.3 I'm sure will be a fun jump!
