Default First time truck owner

I bought a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 crew cab last week with a Duramax. Its an LT and has 57k miles on it.

I've never owned a real truck before. I've mainly been a car guy my whole life. I've owned several Camaro's/Trans Am's (all 4th gens). I currently have a built 02 Z06 Corvette to go along side the truck.

The only thing I've ever owned that came close to a "truck" was a 05 Trailblazer I had a few years back. So, owning something that has enough power to tow my house down is a totally different feeling to drive.

I dont have any plans for it. I'm mainly here just to browse around and see the different tech sections. I prob wont be doing much posting only because I know very little about them and want to learn as much as I can.

Heres a picture of it when it was still sitting on the dealership lot.

Its really nothing too crazy special. Dont get me wrong, its a very nice truck, but its just your average 06 Duramax thats bone stock.

And here's a picture and video of my 02 Z06.

Nice new truck!!
This forum's got tons of info on trucks mods, engine, tranny, chassis, FI, etc,,, but not much in the area of Duramax. There's some Duramax forums' that have a better inventory of info on the engine, however for everything else this is the place to be.
What's done to the vette?

Nice rides! The duramax will wake up quite a bit with cai, full exhaust, and custom tune. You might even pick up a few MPG's with a tune if you can keep your foot out of it! That vette sounds AWESOME!!!!!!
